We are delighted to announce that ComMutual won the ‘Physical Activity Provider of the Year’ award at last night’s Liverpool Sport and Physical Activity Awards!
The award recognises the significant impact an organisation has on the lives of others, helping and supporting local communities to engage in physical and sporting activities.
ComMutual Managing Director Kate Shone said, “This is fantastic recognition for ComMutual, which only recently celebrated its first year as the charitable arm of Liverpool Mutual Homes.
“Our dedicated team is committed to developing key partnerships that provide engaging projects for key community groups. This award highlights our aspiration to improve health outcomes across our communities, so people of all ages can reach their full potential.”
Judges from the Liverpool Sports Forum looked at the diverse range of activities being delivered by the FireFit Hub team and the ComMutual’s Community Health Improvement Officer.
Initiatives such as the female only ‘Sister Hub’, England Wheelchair 7’s wheelchair handball and basketball coaching, ‘Yummy Chefs’ for primary school children and the ‘Cook and Taste’ sessions for the over 55s are just a few examples of how, through inclusive activities, the team is improving health and wellbeing, reducing isolation and helping to create social opportunities across Liverpool community.
